Yeah, it’s Ramadhan!
And, yeah, it’s special!
So special that I have to live it on myself, at the kos-kosan, alone waiting fasting-breaking time in the dusk and waking up myself into early breakfast, sahur, in the dawn.
Gotcha! Not that pethatic. Well, it happened to be these two days ago, when I spent most of the time by myself. But, oftenly I’m seeking to have bukbers, buka puasa bersama, only to let myself forgetting for a nick of time that after all I’ve to spent most of my time by myself.
Confused already?
Anyway, Ramadhan has became a festival nowadays. Read one of large national scale newspaper last Sunday, Ramadhan is not only one of religion tasks. It even already missing its cultural tradition slowly. Ahmad Tohari said that in the place he lived at, people used to make rooster’s cock-a-doodle-do, [cough] kukuruyuk, as a sign to start fasting — imsak — and evidence bats flying as a sign to break the fasting — berbuka. Nowadays, they simply watching television. Yeah, complete with all those sinetrons, quizzes, rough commedies…
Yeah, the world changes. But should it be changed for Ramadhan too?
I’ve got a plan to use the money I’d have from my office on every Lebaran comes, [cough] THR, and the plan is to spend it to things that I desire to have. I’m sure that’s not only me whom do feel it so. Are you gonna spend your THR on new shoes, clothes, or perhaps cellphones? Sure, you have right to use it. Your money anyway. But, it’s not the spirit of the Ramadhan. Oh my…
Ramadhan in modern world is a festival — is a commodification in a consumery world! Yeah, I’m one part of it.
But, let’s share a place to contemplate on ourselves… Let’s start transcending, do you feel grateful yet today? Do you happy? Are you satisfy with things happened in your life?
Arrrrgggghhhhh! Let’s stop it before I’m starting to be heard like a lonely grumpy young man.
Happy fasting, folks!
